Commissioners got a 10% raise last year

I spoke at the Commissioner meeting this morning in Coquille about the need for a realistic solution to the jail crisis. Bob Main's off-topic response was to say that I lied a month ago when I announced that the Commissioners gave themselves a 10% raise in salary and benefits the same year they were claiming to have a budget shortfall. So here's the proof from their own documents available on the Treasurer's website:

2022-2023 ... $463,742 total compensation
2023-2024 ... $512,848 total compensation

A difference of $49,106 or 10.6%

Sorry Bob, but it looks like you need to get a little more familiar with the county budget. At least Rod Taylor was transparent enough to admit that you all did indeed receive a raise. I don't believe the Commissioner position should be paid if the jail is not fully funded.
